As you may be aware, Laredo made it into the autocross finals this afternoon. In the past years, we've seen him challenged by the cones. He has three great runs Friday.

Doug, continue to drive the way you did Friday....DON'T DO THIS!!!!!

Wrong side of the gate??

Yep...Laredo had a problem with that the past two years. This year went smoothly (finished ninth)...Pictures to come.

Here are some pictures from the autocross finals today. Laredo ran in the group of 32, made the cut to the group of 16. He missed getting into the group of eight by one place (about 0.1 seconds). Rain came and went all day; we changed tires 4 times!

Just warning Laredo what might happen if Pat hears he missed a gate again!

Doug had the rain tires on for his first run. Here we are pondering the weather, the competition, and how much time we have to change tires.

Still pondering and discussing.

Doug ran with the rain tires. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate

Some pictures of Laredo's first run. It was good enough to get him to the heat of 16 contenders.

After the first run, we decided to change back to the race tires. It turned out to be a good decision as Laredo was one of the last to run that heat on dry pavement. It began to rain shortly after Laredo completed his run.

Impact wrench issues caused us to improvise. Johnny held firmly on the brake while a hand torque wrench was used to remove the lug nuts (after the car was in the air). We were under a tight time limit to get the car ready for the next heat.

Getting the tire gauge from the console.
7611

Adjusting the air pressure for the run. Yes, we got Laredo back in time to run the next heat.

Laredo's second run, with the race tires. He ran ninth (by 0.1 second). Not quite good enough to make the next heat.
But remember, his car is paid for and only has half as many cylinders as the cars he was competing against.
Great showing Doug!

Just as with last year, Johnny saved the day!

You did good Doug! Now we need Stacey to enter next year to show the boys how it's done.
