What does everyone use to remove the old flocking material of the 2 dash panels so I can re flock them?

Rub off everything you can by hand & for the clean up you can use soap & water or goo gone.

Turpentine is the only solvent that I ever got to work. Nothing else would get the sticky residue off, not even acetone.

Can you use panels from any car to flock or must one re-flock prefiously flocked panels? Sorry, new word for the day.
Seriously though, Mike Martinelli (n20capri on FEP is where I saw the link) who has an 86 9L in his stable, also has a web site that did a good step by step so if I ever feel the need to re-flock I can.

A couple of tips. I usually sand the panels with some 400 wet and dry, gets rid of the last of the flock and gives the new flock something to bond to. Before applying the new flock, give 'em a quick coat with some interior paint, HVP111 works well, this just gives more depth to the finish. I like to dilute the glue about 30% with thinners and spray it with a preval spraygun, gives more even coverage and doesn't leave any clumpy spots of brush marks in the final product.

Is that the original color from the factory? Which would be for an 86?

Wasn't there a movie about flocking? Meet the Flockers with Ben Stiller?

No no...I think the movie you're thinking of is Look who's flocking with John Travolta and Christie Alley... There were a few after that too. Look who's also flocking, look who's flocking now. It was a flocking nightmare.

I like John Travolta. He's done some great stuff (after that stupid dancing show era ended). Flocking aside, he was great in Phenomenon and Michael. Which, btw, were both released in 1996.
