Well last night I came home from work and about 1 block from the house the engine starting missing. So when I got up this morning I checked the plug wires and the fuel injectors (I changed the fuel press regulator last weekend). When I took off down the street it starts missing when giving it gas and when I lift off I hear a metal on metal ticking sound till the turbo spins down. I will be pulling the elbow when I get home to see if the turbo is bad or not. Just like my jeep sounds like time to upgrade.

Turbo issues don't usually cause missing unless it's severe overboost or heavy oiling of the intake track. For missing issues I'd look at ignition (PIP, TFI, cap, rotor, wires, plugs) or fuel (injectors, pressure, flow).

With the black smoke (thinking fuel injectors) and the oil consumption (very little, rebuilt motor in Jan) and the ticking noise when the turbo spools down to idle I’m at a loss will start looking into it tonight.

O.K. here is a update. took the inter cooler and turbo hose off and there is no play in the turbo (money saved). I took the SVO back out and drove though the missing and lots of black smoke and seams to run better no missing. but what i did find is a vib and that clicking sound when i start driving. I replaced the U-joints today and one cap had no needle bearings anymore and the other cap had groves where each needle bearings were. She drives much better now no vibs. Now to order new fuel injectors.
