My LA3 equipped 84 needs full throttle to start after hot. Starts with full throttle after some cranking. I put a fuel pressure gauge on it and it holds 38lbs not running (key to prime only) for 20 min. after key off. Over night it still has 10 psi. What could cause this? Runs great other than that.

I guess I failed to mention it starts cold with no problem, turn the key and its running.

Hard to start when warm is a TFI issue.

Full throttle during cranking, cuts fuel off.

I knew that the full throttle was a flood cure but a bad TFI should cause other problems shouldn't it? It runs great all around except for that.

Nope, Once it gets hot the car can die. It will run fine up until that point. What you might check is how the dizzy is clocked. If it is installed in such a way that the TFI plug it too close to the intake manifold, you need to pull the dizzy out and rotate a tooth or more then reset the timing.

Thanks I have it clocked so I can remove it on the side of the road if I need to. But its all of little consequence now I sold the car.
