1986 svo backfire/rough idle after warm up

My 86 svo has been plagued with an irregular idle and back fire after it reaches temperature. I've replaced the TFI, the Coolant Temperature Sensor and checked timing. It will run fine upon cold start but the issues occur once it has warmed up, and continue after hot start.

I have also replaced the idle air control and pulled codes, but not while it was having issues

Side note, driving above 3k rpm alleviates the symptoms but they return once it's below 3k. Idle seems to bounce from 1100 to 900 during the issue.

Did you try to run any codes?

Did you only replace the TFI & no other other ignition parts? How's the cap. rotor, plugs & wires? Usually a goof idea to go through the complete tune up if you're going to take time to swap the TFI. Did you use new heat sink compound? aka: heat sink paste, thermal paste, monkey cum, heat transfer compound.

Meotch, the distributer cap, spark plugs and wires are all new and I did use a heat sink compound when installing the new tfi.

Mike, it seems to be in the exhaust, and only occurs when moving from a stop. It won't back fire when idling
