Hi,

This is for my 84 Capri RS Turbo. However, the car is a mutt, and the wiring harness came from a Turbo Coupe (I think). When I look at pictures of other's battery/solenoid/grounds I see the wire from the battery going directly to the eyelet on the fender, then a wire from the EEC going through a connector to the same eyelet. But I seem to have two connectors. Is this right?

Here is the eyelet that I think goes on the fender:

Finally, here is the new cable I had made. I screwed up and had the extension made as 4 GA instead of 10, so it is huge. Any issues with connecting this to the same eyelet? Or should I suck it up and order the correct cable?

Hmm,

I wondering if these 2 connectors was from an xr4ti. I need to go back and look at whether the TC harness had the ground or not, or if I took it from the xr4ti harness. I found a few pictures of a replacement merkur battery cable that has two leads coming off the negative cable.

Would it hurt to run that other ground to the same eyelet?

Bump.

I got the correct negative cable and I'm looking to finish this part up over Thanksgiving.

Currently here is how it looks:

Do I attach the 2nd ground from the wiring harness to the battery cable wire (the gray connector), or run all 3 into different eyelets on the apron?

Thanks,

Chris

No need to use 3 locations - choose the one with a captured nutsert , clean the metal and ground all three with that bolt.
