I don't know if any of you know of Marc Beanman, but this is one talented guy! This is a custom stainless thick walled, true twin-scroll header. It took a little while to get it made, but it is worth the wait! The twin-scroll version costs $900.00, which may seem expensive, but when you see and feel the quality of his products, you will understand why the cost is what it is . I will attach some pics of it off and staged on the engine (which is in my 85 SVO).

Tell me what you think. The turbo is a Holset WH1C with 8-blade compressor wheel. The external WG, not pictured, is a Precision 46mm, not cheap, but in this world, you get what you pay for. The WG alone was almost $400.00. I have had some comments on other forums about only using one side of the header (one pair of cylinders) to vent to the WG. I have heard both sides of the case for this, for and against having a single WG on a twin-scroll setup. Please let me have your opinion.

That is a work of art! What kind of HP #'s are you shooting for with that setup? I would like to see your exhaust/wg routing when you get it in there. Looks like you actually have more room than the stock placement. Also, are you going to add any support brackets for the header or just leave it free floating out on the header?

Looking at the pics, it looks like you could triangulate down to the engine mount brackets on the block from the bottom side of the outer turbo flange screws. Those struts would take most of the cantilever load off the engine block flange and help things a bit. I think modeling up the mounting points and some physical details in something like Solidworks (3D CAD) wouldn't be too hard, so fabricating up the struts would be pretty straight forward. Just my $0.02.

When the header heats up and cools many times combined with vibration and the shear weight of the turbo, there will be cracking

The thick wall SS tubing will help increase the time to that happening, but the fact of the matter is that is a 'hefty' turbo hanging pretty far out there. Also, did I notice a gasket being used between the head/header?? Personally I have not seen an exhaust manifold gasket work well on our turbo engines in the past, unless it was a solid copper unit. Now on the header on my old NA 2.3L in a former Mustang, it was the only way to get that to seal. Has anyone successfully used a exhaust manifold gasket on our cars...at least for long term?

I have a ringed, copper gasket between the Essy aluminum head and my SS Rods header. It needs frequent atentiojn but the seal is still better than just the header against the head. Since the head is aluminum and there's not enough room to coil those holes, I don't take the header mounting bolts tighter than 25 Ft-Lbs.

I've been running an exhaust manifold gasket on my 86 for years. Seems the bottom end is usually the problem with my car, not the exhaust manifold gasket....

The header is a pretty stout looking piece. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the setup once you've buttoned it up.

A copper gasket like what Mike is running would be my choice, if I did need to run one. With an AL head, I think that would be a good choice to prevent any galvanic corrosion, especially between SS & AL. The stock cast iron manifold/head combo has seemed to be pretty darn leak free, as long as both surfaces are clean/flat. Funny that some folks can run one without any issues (i.e.- Joe) and others I have talked to over the years seem to blow them out on a regular basis. My guess is you would need to re-torque the manifold screws at least once after a few heat cycles to ensure all gasket compression has been taken care of.

I too am looking forward to the final system pics with this header and WG config.

Unfortunately the holes weren't large enough for my needs so I have to massage them a wee bit.
