Do the '84 map lights also have a dome light on it?
I am going to try and get another one to replace the one I have that is broken and cracked in too many places.

My front light works but the fold down lamp does not. Bad switch? How can I test for power?

My map light sometimes won't light up when I pull it down, but a quick flick of the switch pin turns it on, could likely be your switch too. Try giggling the pin with it down to see if it will come on. If not, you will need to drop it and see if you have power. If power is there it could also be a burnt out bulb, luckily there isn't too much to the unit.

Well that was certainly a favorable result! Glad it was something simple and not an electrical/wiring related issue.
