Singer Porsche - Singer Fox Body?

So looking at those Singer Porsche's lately. Those are some sweet tricked out 911s that are modernized just enough to keep them true to the brand but modified and built with exceptional standards. I know the price on those things are upward if not over $300K. Now I know that there is no way any fox body loving Mustang fan, no matter how much money they have will pay that much for a modernized fox, but what do you think the interest would be in something like that?

I'm thinking fully re-done suspension (maybe IRS), 350-450HP NA V8 (possibly a newer motor), light weight body parts (wide body like a Maier because they look mostly stock) and other fiberglass hood and hatch, rear seat delete with 4 point roll cage, custom interior package (modernized but still true to a Fox body). The car would have to feel solid, start and stop without issue and be as reliable as hell and look just different enough to set it apart from a pristine 1000 mile NOS car and have quality fit and finish better than stock.

You know, the more I type this stuff and think about it, the more I'm remembering how much all this costs. $6-$10K in suspension, $2K in body panels, $3K in roll cage, $10K in motor and God knows what in labor and paint. Maybe I just need to build a new one for myself and see where I can get.

I could go with a regular Fox body (90-93) and do it up with a newer V8 (Boss 302/GT 350 motor and trans?) or go with an SVO and drop a new EcoBoost in it.

I think I've drank too much eggnog.

I love the the Singer approach. I have a salvage title '84, with those exact plans. MM suspension, IRS, brakes, cage, etc. and an Ecoboost.

I'm even going to paint it Porsche Copper Brown Metallic.

It'll probably never happen, but it'll sit in my garage until it does.

In the meantime, I'll daily-drive my stock '86.

Yeah...making money on Fox Bodies just doesn't seem to make any sense (although I did turn the Cobra for a good profit). Not having driven a newer Mustang until I got the Boss 302, I forgot what a good modern car feels like. Been doing it old school too long. It would be nice to be able to build something modern but still have some old school feel to it. That may have to be my next project.

The Singer Porsche is impressive, but there is already a Fox Body version. The late Joe Gosinski's Fox Body has to be one of the most beautifully crafted foxes I have ever seen. I find some irony in the post here as Joe was killed Christmas Eve 4 years ago. I know Mitch has some good pics, maybe he will post them.

One thing Singers have going that you can't really do with a Fox is a more modern chassis. Singer starts with the newer more sophisticated 964 to start with as the donor for its chassis and motor they then add and backdate to look like a hot rod long hood (pre 74) 911. Would kind of be the equivalent of taking an 2005 Mustang and making it look like a fox body.
