That looks useful. Affordable too.
How has it been to play with? What do you think about the software? Can you share some thoughts.
I have been playing around with this http://www.gps-laptimer.de/Home.html. Its not bad for 15 bucks but I have been looking for something new.

I specifically tried to stay away from phone apps. Most "smart" phones have serious issues with battery life at best so I went the path of self-contained devices.

The ones listed above do not tie into the car at all (no RPM, gear, etc.) which is good as it will move car-to-car easily. The more expensive ones tie into the car and give more data, at an order of magnitude increase in price - and no portability.

The software for the two units I have is the same. It's quirky, not feature-packed, hangs and dies often and is not well supported (and what support there is comes via email from Hong Kong, with the usual language translation issues). It's supposed to be able to synch videos with the data (and track map with moving dots) but that's quirky also (like I've not been able to get ANY sound with the video). And there is no provision to save the video/track data compilation - you need a separate screen capture program.

In any case it's inexpensive and useful when displayed on a notebook computer trackside. Each of the two devices has their benefits and drawbacks (and, iirc, each of them can be used as a 10hz bluetooth GPS for a smart phone).

The little one has a 40+ hour run time of battery life while the larger one (with the display) runs for 7 hours.
