I have been lurking on here for a while. I purchased a pair of SVO's in October last year from Mark Haas (SVOTrust) that are well known to the SVO community. An 85.5 1C with leather interior and Comp Prep and an 86 1C with cloth interior, comp prep and under 2,400 miles. These have joined the rest of my current collection. I also currently own an unrestored 85 ASC Capri coupe, an 85 GT 1C t-top, 71 Boss 351, 70 Boss 302 Cougar Eliminator (hence my forum name), 70 428SCJ Cougar Eliminator, 70 Cyclone Spoiler, 70 Mach 1, 70 Cougar convertible.
In 1984, I had always owned Ford's and was looking for my first brand new car, and spent a considerable amount of time looking at the new Mustangs. I could not justify the extra expense of the SVO back then and ended up with an 85 1C 5.0 5 speed that I purchased in December of 1984. Last year I sold a 1970 AMC Rebel Machine, so I was actively looking for an SVO. I had an interest in an 86 SVO that was for sale and I talked with Mark about his opinion on the car. It was not quite what I was looking for and he suggested that he might have be convinced to sell some of his. I have spent a lot of time in the Detroit area for work and we made arrangements for me to come out and talk about his cars. We ended up making a package deal where I purchased the pair, and Mark would move them to his Mother's/Aunt's house in PA to balance the travel time for both of us.
When the snow finally melts they will be out and about. The 86 will primarily be a trailer queen, as I would not want to drive very far on the almost 30 year old tires that are on it.

The Cougar Eliminators were my favorites back in the day. Sounds like you have everything I would have wanted when I was younger. Congratulations on the new arrivals.

Thanks all for the welcome.
I do have the show on April 26th on the calendar.
I also usually attend the Hemming's Musclepalooza shows. My Mercury Cyclone won favorite Mercury one year and my Boss 429 won favorite Ford one year.

Since you have a former SVOTRUST 85.5 comp prep I feel the same way about you guys!
Nice to see David is here!

I should be at both. I went to the Musclepalooza labor day last year, it was my first time ever at a drag strip (spectator only). Was a blast, and I can't wait until Memorial Day weekend this year to go again.

Nice score Dave! Best part about those cars is they came in the correct color, BLACK aka 1C that is!
You would have been banned if you bought a red car ;-)

Welcome! Congratulations on picking up not just one but two examples of great Ford engineering. Can't what to see them at the upcoming shows in northeast.

I brought my 1B to Musclepalooza last year. 'Twas one of 2 cars with less than 8 cylinders as far as the eyes could see.... Still had a good time, though....

Unlike Tucson, we have snow on the ground and salt still on the road. But in order to avoid a ban,

We do get snow here on very rare occasions. Iirc it's left snow on the ground here five times in the ~28 years I've lived here.
