I was looking up the paint color production numbers and was wondering why the dark shadow blue car seems more desirable because of its rarity whereas there were less sage cars produced but are less desirable than the blue ones. Maybe just personal preference ?

GREEN has always been "unlucky" on cars RIGHT (anyone older enough to remember racers attitudes towards this) !
Ford (and other manufacturers) have always had more hues of Blue than green every year (until maybe now) LOL. For example in 1969 there were 7 hues of Blue while only 3 greens you can follow the trends here http://mustangattitude.com/cgi-bin/statsexplorer.cgi?year=all&f1=clrpaint
4E was added due to the 1985 fleet order for Hertz. While 7B was added from focus groups on expanding the color pallet to attract more sales. (same as the single wing option as SOME didn't like the bi-wing) It's funny engineers didn't have the last say - as the bi wing is functional - marketing did as dealers had orders based on "I don't want that spoiler"

P.S. Ask any woman what color they like Blue of Green and 90% will say Blue.

The hertz facts make sense. They might as well given the option to delete to hood scoop if they thought it necessary to compromise functional characteristics for sales.

The hood scoop is understood as how it functions why it is offset as well as why it is needed. The LOOK of the bi-wing was the issue , as the function IS STILL misunderstood as to how it flexes and aids in downforce at speed.

You mean we're NOT supposed to put in the supports to keep the wing from sagging??? UhOh, my bad.
btw: I would rather have a green one. British Racing Green didn't seem to hurt the Limeys. ;)

I prefer the green, but the shadow blue is such a nice color!
