Car started well this am. Drove to the local Cars and Coffee, went to leave and the oil light flashed on while trying to start the engine. This also happened two weeks ago the engine quit while driving at 65mph. At that time a quart if oil did the trick, but have driven less than 50miles since that episode with no discernable leaks. This is probably a FAQ but couldn't find it on the search engine. Need help the car is still at C-n-C. Thanks, Cheers

Are you talking about the low-oil level light (labeled as ego/overboost light)? I've got a stock 86 that leaks a little oil (light comes on at about half a quart low, depending on how level the car is). I don't think that will keep the car from starting.

There is no connection between the Low Oil signal/light and starting/cranking or ignition. Thee cars are VERY primitive electronically and electrically.

My guess is your ignition switch is on its way out. Pull the steering column cover and see if the switch is still in one piece.
