Guys,

I will be installing my rebuilt turbo that has been upgraded with water cooling for the bearings. I have the stainless steel water lines from forced four, but need the water fitting that goes into the block. I've looked at Lowes for the 1/4 ntp to 1/2" hose barb, but couldn't find one. What am I looking for? I understand the 1/4 national pipe thread. Is the 1/2 hose mean the outside diameter? what is the inner diameter I'm looking for?

The closest looking on was a 3/8 id X 1/4 mip, which I didn't buy.

What store could I find this fitting and what size of fitting am actually I looking for?

Thanks for any help.

Hose, like pipe, states INSIDE diameter.

Stay away from barbed (sharp edges) fittings for silicone hoses - they tear easily.

You want a 1/4 NPT male to a hose nipple 1/2 male. This will work after you radius the sharp edge on the barb into a rounded nipple:
