I know this was covered before but I can't find it now. After redoing the sender unit and having it leak again I am going to do away with it once and for all. Do I connect the wires to put the light out or separate them?

What do you mean by "redoing"??? Are you talking about the pressure sending unit on the back of the head?? Is it leaking at the threads that screw into the head or is the sending unit itself leaking??
There is on one wire on it and that will just make your oil pressure gauge inoperable.

My bad it is a LOW OIL LIGHT sensor (not the oil pressure sensor) in the oil pan on my 86. Only one wire and grounded out the light is off.
