How many people are thinking of doing Sturgis this coming Labor Day? I realize its 8 1/2 months away but wondering when registration opens and how soon one must register for autocross school and the like?

Cindy and I will be back for Sturgis. I haven't checked on the registration or anything yet.

I'm mostly interested in how early you need to enter to get in the autocross school. Last time even with the school I had a hard time learning the track layout. Can't go fast if you don't know where you are going.

2 years ago after walking the course half of the field seemed to be disqualifying and suggestions were made to add more cones and pointers that helped alot. Unfortunately I don't think I will make it this year as we have out of town company coming immediately following and I can't take 2 straight weeks off of work. Hopefully get a few local autocross events in close to home next summer with Doug.

You must be counting yourself twice, since you have that alter ego.......

I am pretty sure we sent in our registration in May, which included the level 1 driver school. No problems. One of our travel partners, Cyndie, registered sometime around when we did, but did not enroll in the driver's school. She signed up for the level 1 school when we got to Sturgis, no problem. As the show grows, who knows going forward.

Is anyone willing to volunteer to be a nanny for a 3 month old & a 26 month old while in Sturgis?

No Pat, you are not allowed to give them Scotch to make them sleep.

No Pat, you are not allowed to give them Scotch to make them sleep. I will watch them for you.

Question: if you can't use scotch, how do you get them to sleep?

Well, if the second minion is anything like the first, she'll just need a boob in her mouth to go to sleep.

I am possibly attending in 2016. Been about 4 years since I have been to Sturgis. Last time took the GT vert. Need to get some interior work done on the SVO if I attend.

What work is needed? We are looking to get 10 or more SVOs there this year. We need to talk with the organizers about adding the class back for the show & having enough pre-registered will help our cause.

Needs new headliner, new leather seats, probably new carpet and some cosmetic things.

You've got plenty time to get the written done. You could still bring it even if it needs any of that work. Everyone there enjoys seeing these cars show up regardless of the condition they are in. We've had low milage trailer queens, those in need of restoration, daily drivers, race cars (MacTools car), hot rodded, restored, & beaters show up.

You're right. It may show up the way it is now too. With work, it is tough to find the time to work on.

The last time I was there, Mark had the Mac Tools car there. That was cool just to see.
