Need help with 86 wiring

So I bought an 86 SVO that's engine wiring harness was replaced. I'm sure the chassis harness was hacked at some point because the radio, wipers, window motors, fuel door, and hatch release don't work. Electrical work isn't my forte, so I haven't gotten far in troubleshooting. I tried working on the window motors since they're stuck up. I tried swapping a switch out with a known good one, and nothing. I pulled the circuit breaker from the fuse box to see if it was getting any voltage, and it's not. Yes, I checked with the key on. This is about where my knowledge runs out. Am I going to have to pull the dash and trace the wires from the back of the fuse box? Is there a junction somewhere where everything ties together?

Interesting project.

I'd start with replacing the ignition switch and verifying the wiring/connectors to/from the ign switch since most of those items get power from there (except horn).

Next verify chassis and dash grounds.

Then troubleshoot each circuit separately. I'd start with the power windows. There is a multi-wire (mostly red/pink) harness that goes along the inside cowl area beneath the front windscreen (accessible only with dash out) that goes left-to-right. Additionally, parallel to that, is the power locks wiring. Depends on options - obviously manual win/locks won't have these harnesses.

There's lots of places to have issues with PW/PL: wiring & assoc. connectors, power to the circuit, motor/actuators, grounds.

I'd T/S horn and radio last.

Do lights/fog lights work (or get power when they should)?

As others have mentioned get an 86 EVTM. it breaks out each system circuit showing wires, connectors, colors (although the location is sometimes vague), and T/S tips while the full schematic sows every wire and can get confusing easily.

And patience. LOTS of patience.

I have a complete dash harness from an 86 somewhere. Just can't get to it now.

Here's another one for ya, Mike. Now the car won't start. It will turn over, but not run. The coil is getting power, but not putting out any spark. The only thing I've done is replace the ignition switch. Do the SVOs have a unique ignition switch that I don't know about? And in case you're wondering, when I replaced the switch I just tested out the windows and called it quits.

Never mind, the EEC relay was bad.
