I've worked with 3M films and think I'm going to wrap mySVO.
Anyone done it?
I'm also working my way to 20 posts!

So what happens to the paint after a couple of years when the wrap has to come off?

Can you do stripes with this type of material?

Can you do stripes with this type of material? Striped, spotted or patterned - your choice.

All the race cars you see on the tele are "wrapped" with printed vinyl pieces. Almost nobody does paint anymore on race cars.

I'm talking stand alone stripes on a otherwise painted car? Not a whole car wrap with stripes.

AFAIK, all of the factory original stripes were vinyl appliques that came in rolled-up plastic-sheet-backed rolls. Some folks painted on stripes - more color choices.

Those were what I called decal's and I thought they had adhesive but now that you said it these are essentially the same thing I guess.

The new films are far advanced from the old stickers and decals. Completely safe to the underlying finish. Stripes designs whatever.
Metalics even chromes. Just youtube DIY wrap a d you'll see all thats possible and how easy it is to use.
