Why are you changing the lifters? If you are having a running issue with revs, then it is most likely the valve springs that are the issue, not the lifters.

When ever you change a component in the valve train, you will need to verify lash clearances.

Any lifter brand will work. Rock auto has the best prices.

Also, make sure you keep the followers in their original locations.

You may also want to check for a crack in the exhaust or the gasket between the manifold and turbo. Both can cause a ticking sound.

I'm eventually going to have the entire engine gone through, but since this problem arose first, I figure I might as well upgrade these parts now. Thanks in advance.

Esslinger is your only option for an aftermarket head, but a good stage 3 port job on your stock head will be worth the effort. I like my Boport cam.
