Question about the "other" site...

It's been years since I was banned from svoca and I was pleased to learn that Bud is no longer active there. Why can't I sign up with my Gmail account? There is zero chance that I'll use my work account and I have NO idea what my ISP account is. I have seen posts by people who want to save some SVOs and need parts. I have some take-offs from my car that could help them out. So what's the deal with them? They do or don't want to help owners?

Last I heard --- is that folks (actually their login accounts) --- that were previously banned were un-banned and the previous account logins work again. If you don't know the password for your previous login, you can request their system to send you an email to reset the password. You will need access to the previous email addy that you had set there. Typical vBulletin forum stuff.

Otherwise you will need to contact a mod there (obviously not The Budt) if you don't have access to that email addy.

I have heard, post-Budt, that that "other site" is much friendlier now. But I have no personal experience in that arena.

Now, now folks...think of the children already! :fasttruck: PM me with your 'other' user name so I can take a look into it. I don't think the 'all ban' was ever cleaned up, so there are likely a lot of blocked/banned accounts that shouldn't be. I will certainly try and help out where I can.

I was never banned, but left and never logged back in - probably +10 years ago. For Shits & Giggles, I just read this post and tried to log in. It first said "Welcome!", then it said banned - never. I think as Art says, it's a total ban on non-paying members.

I was never given a reason for the ban and I hadn’t violated any club rules. I was not a happy camper after that. I assume it was from associating with people like Mike, Pat and Mitch.

I have no problem seeing the forums or the top level site.

It's hosted at GoDaddy, presumably on a shared server, so it probably has a few minutes of downtime pretty regularly.
