Does running E85 cause the fuel gauge to read differently/incorrectly? I realize it is basically a float valve in the tank that sends the signal, but since switching over to E85 the gauge is always very optimistic on how much fuel is in the tank. We can add about 6 gallons when the gauge is just below 3/4.

E85 weights more (maybe 25%? more than petrol so the float thingie will sit higher in the liquid, thus reading a higher amount on the gauge. How much higher? No idea.

Interesting. The mileage is pretty laughable on E85 as it is. I'd hate to run the tank dry trying to find out, but I wonder how quickly it would drop from 1/2 to E. What does the stock tank hold? Like 15 gallons?

Stock tank is 15.4 US Gallons, from bone dry to topped - the full 15.4g is NOT the usable amount.

Been running E85 for about 10 years, gauge has always been a slight bit high, I’d say about 1/8.
