Turbo Oil Feed Line copper washers

Any thoughts on how I can get the copper washer to stay in place on the end going to the pressure sending unit?

I was thinking a very light dab of light grease to allow it to stick to the flare on the line while getting the nut started by hand. Obviously I don't want anything that can end up in the turbo.

A slight bit of some sticky stuff or grease as blueboss points out. or some moly assy lube, etc.

The important part is to get the washer centered on the tapered cone before tightening the tube. A wee bit of talent, some luck and a handful of cussing generally works for me.

DO NOT overtighten the fitting - the soft copper will crush and seal with very little pressure.

Used moly lube. Managed to get the washer to stay in the port under the oil pressure sending unit. Took about 40 min to get the washer to stay, the nuts threaded at both ends & then snug down the nuts. Might have been a little easier & quicker if I had a lift to work on. I'll leak check it later & snug the flare nuts a little mre if needed.

BTW, I prefer bacon grease not crisco.

Why not just "pre-taper" the copper with the oil line and a union fitting? That would help it stay centered.

It was easy to center the washers as they fit perfectly into the openings, so yes they were centered.
