The guy installing the new front glass said it wasnt a problem so I had new rear, heated glass installed when my car was in the body shop.

yes new heated back windows are available for our cars , the difference is that the new ones are the 91-93 style with a long lead for the power supply, they are also available in aftermarket or OE carlite. id have to check pricing on monday or tuesday between oe and aftermarket

So when you use the heated rear window, does it jack up your tint (eventually)??? I always hat to use it because I'm afraid it contributes to it.

Not if you have a high quality metallic based tint on the window.

The quality of the tint is what will determine that, like MEOTCHH said the newer hi metalic tint will not do it over the heater lines

My intent is to have 3m crystalline tint applied. Then I'll swap out the glass. The tint shops up here want the glass removed before they'll tint it, if you take it to them with the glass in, they want $150 to remove the glass and won't guarantee against breakage.

Plus, my current rear glass defroster doesn't work and I don't want to go through the hassle of trying to repair it. And, I'm not even sure it can be repaired.

When i had my windows tinted in az ,i offered him the backwindow out of the car . He said no way , he wanted it installed in the car, saying that there would be lint and dust in it if he tinted it out of the car on a stand

Interesting, different strokes for different folks.
