Master cylinder is leaking AGAIN. Ordered one from O'reily's - opened the box - cast iron :(. Now I'm hesitant to get one from a mail order supplier. Who's for sure sells the correct one?

I picked up one at O'Reilly's. Just check what they give you.

Unfortunately none of the rebuilders keep separate part numbers for the aluminum versus iron ones - just by bore size and bolt pattern.

Find a local warehouse that has several in stock and look through a few boxes.

I got a new one from Rock auto a while back for $39 but that was right after I paid $100 for a Ford NOS one.

Alternate plan: The stock ones have a hard-anodized main bore and short of metal scratches, I've never seen a corroded or damaged bore. The main issue is the flare cones where the tube ends seat (see Flemings' Famous Sealing Washers).

Last time I searched for rebuilt kits, they wer >$40/US and a whole reman unit was ~$30/US. So get any reman unit, strip and clean your exisiting stock one and swap over the new internals.

Came up empty (??)

Well then, we can't tell you to do a search, can we?

Came up empty (??) Yeah, that happens when that thread hasn't been posted yet. One of those thousands of things on the To Do list we still have to do. Sigh.

And I do not currently have the capacity to make more. I think that Chalks looked into doing a run a while back. Chris?

Mike,

Just sneak in the post and back date it. Then tell Laredo that he needs to learn how to use the search function.

MUHAHAHAHA!!!

HA!

Then Mitch can ban him for not searching! Nice touch!

The counter guy at O'Reilys was kind enough to call their warehouse and have them do a manual inspection. Found one aluminum and had it shipped to local store. Good to go. Thanks Mike!
