It's only Friday, and racers have reported incidents or sightings at Pocono NASCAR and Canadian GP on track of:

Groundhogs
Squirrels (the non human variety)
Beavers
Deer
Course workers.

Nah, the Aussies still got that beat.

I've seen vid or kangaroos bouncing (running?) across the track during the V-8 Supercar races.

Just starting to watch practice from the DVR.

Another great weekend for racing, Montreal (which has produced the best F1 race for several years running), Pocono, etc.

Edit: LeMans is next weekend, damn.

They have to deal with frogs at LeMans. Some of them are officials.

I just turned down some free tickets for Dallas. Too much to do. Practice in Canada had squirells and Foxes on track....

Is Dallas another ugly, no-passing-zone, street course?

As opposed to Monaco, which is an enchantingly quaint, no-passing-zone, street course.

Most all street courses - and many real race tracks - are non-passing zones. If you don't qualify near the front, you can always hope for full course yellows.

Came across practice time sheet from Dallas 2001. We were running almost 237mph with PT in P1. Yesterday's pole speed was barely 215. The slowest time in 2001 was 221.7MPH. Too bad all the drivers weren't as screwed up as PT. They canceled the race due to several drivers claiming they were experiencing Vertigo & blacking out under such high G's.
