As you know the fun of restoring old cars is finding things ! (like build sheet)

And "assembly line items" Under the carpet !!

Mark
P.S. I also revel in finding WRONG hardware on cars - KNOWING that someone was there before me !!! (Good think I kept all my screws from over the years)

Yep, me too. Come on Mark, tell us a story. I saw the car on Ebay, so I know that much. So where does the story go from there?

Really - you want the whole story ! Can I just skip to the "it was in the middle of Hurricane Debbie" http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/debbys-next-move-the-atlantic-coast/67017

Banzi ride - got seller to stop the auction on Sat - was there with truck, trailer and cash on Tuesday at 1PM. They were closing the island at 2PM for the storm serge ! Highlights of trip - Paid the lowest price for diesel fuel in the middle of the atlantic ocean. (3.29 a gallon) I don't understand how fuel out there is cheaper than on I80 near a refinery !

Kind of funny - I really could have beat up Buckey "as to the condition" of the car! (the driving rain had me load it in less than 15 min)
I said "the brakes are probably frozen" He said no they aren't - haha I'm sure that is why he drove it into the trailer ! Once you start to taking apart you find all the evidence of "buckey's work" (torx head screws, wrong hard ware etc etc)

Right now I'm waiting on E5ZZ 6571 A & B as this time I want to clean up the motor before painting car ! Just documented all the sticker and stripe locations and spacing. (This really was a good thing to get the car as the stickers on the Mac Tools Race Car can be reproduced "better" for size and detail)

Yes nice to have them together - now if I can just find the "girl in the spandex in the poster" !

Oh yeah
I forgot to credit Chalky for texting me the car on Ebay ! (I didn't know he texted it to Kendal and Ken)

Mark
P.S. They could have bought it and held it hostage for a Comp Prep of mine !

No I know - YOU are the guy that hunts down the cars ! (this is my 3rd sight unseen Ebay purchase)

Mark
P.S. It was the VIN that you sent that triggered my brain into action !

I would have liked to get it but had to pass. I'm still having to let go of some of my others which I wish I could have kept them all. As some know I'm in the middle of major renovations on the family home to sell it asap. SVOs are all still sitting...

Mark - -
I thinks it great that you have both now. Let me know what parts you are needing and we'll go from there. No Steeda parts left, right? How about any Saleen parts? Actually, both don't need anything but you never know. Always good to have spares...wait that's what I did for the SVOs. :)

Well -with the Mac Tools Race car on the lift (waiting on another fuel pump - thanks Chalky)

I figured I'd change the "auto fogging" bad valve stem seals on the giveaway car ! No big deal, done it many times plus I wanted to replace the WRONG hardware that "buckey" used when he changed the timing belt.

Even with all the tools, parts and a SVO parts department it was SLOW GOING for me ! Could have saved an hour if I took the shraider valve out of the compression tester from the start ! At the end I crossed two wires - I don't know what that is so easy when you are dealing with only 4 !! (But it happens - and I have internet suggested to check that when others post the same issues)

All these years of shying away from 1984/85's had me forget the differences ! The oil dip stick tube retainer bracket fights you -just like the 86 style bud uses a 12mm head bolt not an 8mm.

Got it all sorted out , runs good now. Buckey must not know about timing lights, let alone SPOUT but I did find all the place he was and replaced the items with Motorcraft parts and original hardware !

Mark
P.S. Just remembered I've got a 17mm socket on the distributor bolt - boy I need one of those T handle timing wrenches (anyone want to make 25 for us to buy?)

Sears used to sell them under the Craftsmen name. I have one. Only needed it for the SVOs.

Drained Buckey's oil !! I'm thinking he forgot to drain it before filling with more oil !!
It was black, it was lots and it was void of water !

Mark
P.S. Do I use my last FL-300 ? Of Course !! (Will add those to the Carlisle shopping list)
