what is the best way to put the body emblems back on to the hatch and front fenders after painting ?

First off don't do it sober, you want it to mimic the quality control of the mid eighties!

Are you using the old emblems needing new adhesive? I'm assuming that is what you are asking about.

3M makes a great double sided adhesive available at most body shop supply stores in the US. You just need to trim it after sticking it to the properly cleaned up emblems.
