Just got word that my tach is bad. I have an AEM computer in the SVO and I thought there was a problem with the signal to the tach, but the shop said the tach is bad (this is the same shop that installed the AEM and performed the tuning, etc.).

I don't know what they checked, or didn't check. But they are pretty good (IMO).

What (if anything) should I ask them to double check?

Other than mounting an aftermarket, what other options are available? I thought about just a shift light. Is there a replacement that would work (and how much of a PITA would it be to install it)?

Just replace the tach in the cluster. Are you using the stock instrument cluster?

Remind me when I'm at the shop to check if I have a unused SVO tach or cluster.
