Ok SO I purchased some tires/rims for my '84 SVO. These rims and tires were off of a 1999 Eclipse and are 235/45/17. I was told these would work but might have the dust caps stick our, I was told wrong! These worked perfectly on the back, but some issues came up on the front. Even without the center cap on the wheel, they won't fit around the disks outer ring, but I didn't give up! SO we took a look and figured out some ideas on what to do....Machine the wheel? No it would look terrible...why not machine the disk/rotor???? Everyone is telling me you can't put anything else on these, but for $12 I can get both of my disks machined to fit these wheels and they will still be structurally safe and look fine....any thoughts?

Incorrect...I am having the center caps (the dust caps and the surrounding area) cut smaller by the smallest fraction of an inch...the center of my wheel won't go on otherwise, the rotor itself will be left alone. In the picture you can see the arrow, this is what will be shaved down

OK, that makes more sense to me. That is exactly what I did to my front rotors to fit the mach 1 wheels. I removed the rotors and then removed the studs and went around them lightly with a flapper disc on my grinder. Like you said, thousandths of an inch.

:P lol I see what you thought I was saying though, and that's a terrible idea. I'm hoping this works our great, because those new rims look way different from any other SVO I've ever seen

Another thing to keep in mind, the expansion of this part when you get the brakes really hot. It may only be small clearance now but the rotor will expand when the brakes are worked hard. It may take up the clearance and bind the wheel on.

It may take up the clearance and bind the wheel on. Then you may need to wait a few minutes for the wheels and rotors to cool before changing wheels? But I suspect that'd only happen at track days though.

This is a daily driver guys :P, I don't think it's getting crazy hot. if I ever plan on racing or showing this car, I will throw the old rims back on. Can I do that, put the old stock rims back onto the changed rotors?

Thanks for all the help guys! Probably would have been easier to not be cheap and just buy new tires, but I wasn't thinking about all the variables lol. Hope this is worth it! Aftermarket is not something that I ever planned for this car, but for a few months it'll work

It will work but the SVO wheels will not be hubcentric anymore when the old wheels are installed on the machined rotor hub.
