Complete gasket kit with 1 piece rear main.

Ok guys, chalky has lit a fire under my a$$, so i guess its time to start the search for some minor parts to make the ttop svo road worthy again. What i need is a complete gasket kit for my motor with a 1 piece rear main seal. Wonder who sells a good quality complete gasket kit at a decent price. I figure , if im going to do a couple of gaskets , i may as well do them all

ALL SVO engine gasket sets I've seen had a one-piece rear main seal. And my early 84 came with a one piece real seal.

Try rockauto for the lowest pricing.

Mike, send a PM to Dragpak (my favorite parts guy) and ask him to respond in this thread. He would give you his expert recommendations and/or gladly sell you what you need.

You also need to be careful ordering between early and late engines, because pan gaskets will be 4 piece for early ones and one piece for late ones.

I used Flatlander several times for various engines including my 2.3T, seemed like quality parts at good prices.

Not sure mate, but at a minimum, get the one piece rubber pan kit from O-reilly's, Fel-pro number OS34211R. It's for the later engines but they work fine, just have to fill in the recess in the front and rear caps. I've had one in mine forever and it's fine. Alternatively, tell me what you need, I have a box full of gaskets in the garage!!!!

86 & up are considered late. I'm not sure about the 85. Call Rick Singer & he can tell you for sure.

I bought a re-ring kit from flatlander, i believe it was for 83-85 2.3T, it came with several rear main seals and several gaskets for other configurations including square or inline intakes.

Thats nice, but your 84 should have also had a different pan gasket than the later models.

All of my SVO engines use a 4-piece pan gasket, including the 1986 engines.

I prefer the Victor Reinz. I've tended to purchase those parts from Rock Auto.

I've purchased many of the ARP parts from Summit Racing.
Enough of that, it was giving me a headache.
