parts/sources needed for items for paint

    Hello
THose that have painted SVO's know that you will need sources for items !!!

CONSIDER THIS A WANTED AD - for a drivers door handle!

But I also wonder what source you use for items like

    1) Large Rivets that hold header to front cover
    2) NUT Insert for rear hatch upper spoiler screws
    3) Paint Code for 1984 TRIM BLACK

    Mark
P.S. We will be painting the car in July -if all goes as planned. For that I know it is 9L

I have a small collection of those rivits, in black. The local AVECO stocking house that I used to buy trim stuff from has closed. Ther are other sources available, but none that I can just walk into.

"1) Large Rivets that hold header to front cover" aluminum rivet? I made my own by chucking a .750 diameter head rivet in a lathe and spinning it down to .590". The plastic rivets are around still.
"2) NUT Insert for rear hatch upper spoiler screws" . Please be more specific. Do you mean for the sheet metal screw holes? If so, just tack weld the hole with a MIG welder or heliarc with a dab of silicon bronze.

You know now I'm questioning WHY there is a NUT-SERT there !! This is the hatch I got from Tony in Sturgis. The one side has a threaded nut sert on the top hole. Maybe - someone added those!? If that is the case we can weld shut and redrill on fitment of spoiler.

I have the Auveeco number in the garage for the header panel rivets. I'll post them this weekend if I get a chance.

    Mark,

Have you checked out clips & fasteners web site?

    http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/For...eners_s/63.htm

Below are a few rivets I found listed for a Ford Bumper cover. I'm not sure if any of them are the correct ones, but I'm sure you can figure that out.

    Hi Mitch

I had looked at that site - but your link FINALLY got me to the 9/16 flange (I can live with). My guess is I can get these at a local auto body but having the Ford Number 388664-S100 helps !

    Thanks

Mark, I can get you any amount of hardware you need from our main supplier for the shop. He has got me all the original hardware for my car personally too.

    Hi Ray
Well it looks like all I need at the 8 or 10 alum rivets for the front facia and the ones for the door handles (if someone has a drivers door handle to sell)

Rivets for the door handles can be had from the site I posted above. They can also be had from Fox Mustang Restoration.
