    Hello from Jason in CA

    Hello all,

I recently purchased my 86 svo as a near finished project car. I lucked out on having the original owner (cough) bob holmes (cough) having already made it mechanically sound. All that's left is finishing up the interior and a couple nuts and bolts here and there before the real fun begins.
I've actually been to one of the gatherings there at Knoxberry and am looking forward to making it to another gathering with a finished product. I've added some photos so you guys can check out what I've gotten done so far

Welcome Jason. Nice project. Which area of Sacramento are you at? I grew up there and visit family often.

Great score Jason. Now make sure your dad didn't sabotage the car like he does with the BB race car. Flat Bob is always a great resource as well.

If I worked on it it should be considered sabotaged...now was it intentional or not.

He took it to get smogged this morning. Here's hoping it passes.

They did a bunch of detailing yesterday, little punk won't sell it back to me! Looks great.

If someone has another turbo to block oil drain, we'd certainly appreciate buying it from you. It looks like the one we have has a crack. Doesn't leak while running, but as soon as we shut it off...drip, drip, drip.

Weeeellllll, we got bit hard by the smog folks.

We need a stock exhaust system, downpipe to tip (3" on there is a no-no. Brand new, ceramic coated thing of beauty that it is), a stock fuel regulator, either stock pulleys, or a stock set of pulley covers. The stock pulley covers will also fix the requirement for a stock timing pointer.

First real experience that Jason has had with the smog system in California.

Wow, that's tough! Is there some kind of a checklist they follow? Bob, you had the word 'stock' in your post six times! I didn't think that and SVO went together so often in sentences!

Here in Alberta there is only voluntary emissions checks. Nothing official (yet). Heaven help us if the Lefties ever get in power. Wait, I'm a lefty but not a Lefty.

Odd that with all of our fresh air, Eastwood would not send me rust converter or encapsulator aerosols due to VOC rules. Oh yeah, you in California can't import it either.

    Good Luck!
