That was karma for the idiot dropping in a V8 & to make matters even worse it was a LS motor.

Ha. I had the special tool. That was a hell of a day. Found out one of the screws had been stripped at some point in the past. But we improvised... Even used another screw from the dizzy to temp repair it. Still running the same TFI to this day, good used one.

Some of the racecar on the track

The funny thing about this clip...This is my 84 and apparently it likes to have distributor issues. One time the rotor blew up on my going to Vegas and my Dad drove out to get me and tow me home. Luckily with this video, the cap broke but the car still ran.

At Buttonwillow. First time post-build the car was on the track. This was a couple years ago.

    MY old SVO.
I was talking with Jason.. I remember being frowned on a bit when dragged this car. BUT. I wanted to prove what a GREAT out of the box package Ford gave us in these IF... you wanted to drag race it. This car has stone stock suspension, no front or rear sway bar, and Konis set to soft with some old school slapper bars. This car routinely cut mid to low 1.50s for 60 foot times and I did manage a 1.499 and botched 3rd.. I was so disappointed with myself...mighta been my 11.70.. this car still had the big vam, stock LA3, home ported head stock valves, A 237, ported inlines, etc.. super mild car.... INfact on the 100% never had the valve cover off engine and T3 the car managed some 12.20-12.30 passes at 110 MPH and went 1.60s. I was still chicken to go off the limiter like the later 11 sec runs so who knows...

    Stock 12.20s...

    Track pass.

This was the very first time I ever took the car to the strip, it was very much stock with a ported E6, FMIC, LA3/browns/Big vam, 3" downpipe, 23 psi, race gas, slicks skinnies and a adj regulator. I was HOPING to run a 13.50 or 60.. Stock 7.5" rear, stock trans, motor, fuel pumps [the stock dual pumps went 11s btw]... I guess the reason I posted this all is because even though these cars were touted for handling and braking... whether by accident or on purpose, Ford built a car that car that ended up being Ultra capable at the drag strip and I think a lot of people didn't realize how easy it was.....
