    1985 Comp Prep From Georgia

I have been a friend of Pat for a couple of years now. We met when we were racing in IMSA around 1980 something. I guess in retrospect it has been quite some time... anyway Pat asked me to post some pictures of my Comp Prep once it was completed and I was happy with it. I have owned the car since May 2009 and it was in very good shape but had some problems with leaks and small detail items that needed attention. I now have it back to 100% original except for the aluminum core radiator which I installed to keep cool here in GA. I have the original one that is just fine but does not cool quite as well as the current technology. This is the car that is featured in the Mustangs 40 Year by by Randy Leffingwell.

Glad to see you here Bill. The car looks great! I'm going to have to try to visit next time we're back in GA.

Really nice car, for not being RED.

I love that there are no speaker panels in the hatchback.

There is no perforation in the pull out shade which I thought was interesting.

That is interesting... with a March build date, I would consider that mid-year and would have thought they would have had "speaker style" panels and a perforated cargo shade. Need Kendal to chime in on this one.

That is a legit March build 85. That is also a 1 of 2 SVO IIRC.

Not sure exactly when they started putting the perforated cargo shades. On another note I need three sets of those rear panels. All of mine had speaker holes cut in them by someone that didn't know any better. That is a really nice original car and we should use it as a benchmark for other 85 comp preps in my opinion. I do not think just because it was a comp prep they would have put a different cargo cover than any other mustang built at the same time.

    CP with leather.......
No AC down south! I can't take my black 86 CP the two whole weeks we might get near 90 in northern NY.
I'll have to look at my cargo cover to see it if has holes. I'm 2nd owner and the 1st didn't mess with anything

I have had later Foxes (88-89) where the cargo covers didn't have speaker holes due to the speakers being moved up to the back seat bolsters. I've even considered using later Fox cargo panels to rid myself of the speaker holes.
