as i remember the iac can be cleaned and then checked. if you look on the inter net under iac there is a really good deal of info. i remember that i cleaned the guts of the iac with brake fluid.

Hi Bob,
I had cleaned it with TB cleaner and actually let it sit a while with cleaner in the holes. It still does the same thing, high idle after some driving. It does fluctuate some at times surging a little, maybe couple hundred rpm. I did find the correct IAC for 86 SVO on amazon, made by standard and it was the last one available. $70 vs the $92 for the napa turbo coupe one. I did an instant app for a visa card on amazon, got approved and they gave me an instant $30 gift card good towards anything! So $40 for the IAC and $5 shipping.
