    Alternator blown diodes

    Hi Guys,

My alternator had blown diodes recently and I had my local alternator guy rebuild it. I have used the car 2 or 3 times since and I have blown the diodes again. Not sure where to look and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on possible causes.

    Thanks

Make sure your local rebuilder is installing 70Amp+ diode plates and not the typical 40Amp units.

OK will do. This is a car that is driven frequently and it just seems abrupt how it went and then almost immediately happened again. If the diodes are not the case could bad battery cables cause this?
