    Ball joint replacement

Found this searching for pictures of BJ replacement projects from the past. I sent them an Email today and will see if this is a new option.

Well with the words rare parts in the link has me wondering if it is RareParts who was doing the rework previously. They just stopped advertising.

I only saw one side mentioned. Did I miss the other side?

Yes, I worked with Fatman to get them made. I haven't heard they are out of business but think they stopped making the LCAs due to lack of demand.

    Bruce,
I sent FCRC Machine (your Link) 2 e-mails; Called them twice & left message. You can't get their phone number from the web site. They did not respond to either. When their phone rings it does not id the company name but simply says "leave a message"..Phooey on them. Made contact with Rare Parts, a separate company also located in Stockton. Rare parts is the company who actually rehabs the lower control arms. They were very nice and welcomed the business. Provided me with an order number for the box and took all my contact info ect for the order. Sent the control arms off today for rehab and new ball joint with zerk.
Don't see any reason at all to deal with FCRC Machine!!!
If you want to contact Rare Parts @ 209 - 948 - 6005 ask for Glenn.

    Bruce,
Today my rehabbed A-Arms arrived from Rare Parts..Rather quick turn around time. Absolutely first rate work. They are like new and of course now have a new ball joint with a zerk fitting. No need to deal with FCRC Machine. also in Stockton..
I could not be happier with this product...You have to start with a right and a left core. Any Questions

Did you get any info on the ball joints he used? Just want to know they are the right taper as the SVO is an odd ball.

    Rare Parts Lower Control Arms

    Bruce,
Think they said Ball Joints were McKay Norris...Declined to give out specific part numbers as a lot of research goes into each piece they make.
Further stated that they are well aware of tapers, orientation and many other things involved in absolute correct fitment. They create an engineering file on each and every piece that they offer for sale..
The Ball Joint is a little more robust and beefier than the Napa # for S-N 95. Dust shield fits down over the pin and can be removed and replaced..Not wired or sealed in place. Threads and castilated nut are fine thread not coarse..Cost was about $740..Worth It!!
Will try to attach a couple of pics..My skill sets in this dept are limited!!! They are a pleasure to deal with..Contact Glen Knowles @ Rare Parts

I'm gonna go out on a limb & say those are new bushings. I don't recall them looking that nice when I shipped the used control arms to him.
There's nothing more to see here, now move along...

Thanks for the info and pics! Yep, bushings look new to me.

Add $740 to my $1050 NOS hood pad and $1200 in outer markers.
