    Officially SVOless

After 35 years and a few weeks, I am now without an SVO. An empty, silent space sits in the garage. An assortment of decades-old collected spare SVO parts cry out in the night.

It made the trip to its new home in Boulder consuming a respectable ~24 MPG average.

    Pics soon.

Wow I know that hurts. I though you would be the last to sell your SVO. I'm in the process of selling 5 of my motorcycles and liking automatic transmission cars and motorcycles. Looking at a Can-Am three wheel F3 or a Honda Nc750x DCT/abs. Well at least it was fun when it was and you have pics and videos. Like Dylan said The times they be changing. Time for moving on to new adventures.

Hope you're still gonna hang out on SVOCOP!
What's the new owner's plans for the Baron?

It's staying in the family, keeping the Fleming tradition.

My brother, Robert (aka "Bob") has it now. He lives in Boulder, CO. His plans are to have some fun, take it to shows and stuff. He had fun exercising it on the highways from Tucson to Colorado.

He has an account here somewhere. I'll let him update the trip stories.
Found his account: He is "Wommbatt". Yes, there is a story behind that name from the early 70's.

So what will fill the "boost" void now in your life?

My Boost urge?? How about zero cylinders and zero liters? With 0-60 in 4.1 seconds? And silent.

LOTS of new technology to break.

You need to get your brother to enter the Steamboat springs show.

    Hello SVOCOP,

I'm happy to be a (new) SVO member and owner. I've been a fan of the work Mike has done to this (and many other cars) for many years prior to the founding of SVOCOP, and after driving this thing from Tucson to Erie, CO, I have a lot of respect for what a '2010 SVO' might perform like. It's light, fast, and certainly not cheap.

I've delved into the Creation of the Red Baron series and most of the posts over the past year or so; Mike has a LOT to complete to bring this series up to date, IMHO. Hear that, Mikie? Paying attention?

Highlights of the drive: 5200 rpm in 5th across the 'Safety Corridor' in NM; 24mpg door to door and 4.10s are quite the fun gear!
Prior to leaving we dropped in new T5, new skins, thorough eval of the car and gas. Dude at the station gave Mike and the SVO the 'thumbs up'.

Pic number 5 below is the first known pic of the RED SVO in the wild, at Wagon Mound, NM (really, a town named Wagon Mound?).

Previous cars include a 92 and 93 NSX, 89 930 and 88 M5...we're show winners with the 93 NSX and the 89 930 here in Denver, and I suspect we'll enjoy similar success with the RED SVO

I'll be working on detailing the drive from Tucson to its new home, but I wanted to share a couple pics with you.

Please reach out and introduce yourselves; our idea of a cool car is something with 3 or 4 wheels.

Good to hear from you...the chances are astoundingly high at this point. May have to plan on an additional day as Steamboat's gorgeous in June...lots to see and do.
I'd suspect that the drive from Seattle would be a lot of fun.
And, that would be northwest; insanity is hereditary.

5200 rpm I'll bet that was loud, what was that speed 65mph?

There are 5 other SVOs heading to the show from MN, WA, NM, & OK. I think there are one or two SVO owners that are regulars at the show & live near by Steamboat. So if you make it with the Red Barron, we should have up to 8 SVOs. I think everyone driving from out of the state will be arriving on June 11 & 12. There are 3 of us signed up for the autocross.

Wow, I never thought I would see this! It went to a good home and I hope you got visitation rights Mike.
Welcome Bob, looking forward to seeing some new adventures from you and the Red Baron.
