    Steering rack

I need a new/rebuilt rack for my 2R, it's leaking and has a bad inner tie rod. I was told to stay away from A-1/Cardone rebuilt racks. Are there other sources for reman racks? Are there kits for rebuilding the rack? I have a 'donor' SVO and I'm willing to give a try to rebuild it myself.
    TIA, Paul

I got a rebuilt one from Summit Racing, it's been working good with no leaks.

Beyond general reliability problems, you also have to consider that a rebuilt rack might not have the right valving for a performance application. '03 Cobra is the one most people want, but there are reports of these racks not feeling anything like a real Cobra rack. AGR sells an expensive rack that claims to have Cobra R valving and I think it's worth a look. Flaming River sells a ridiculously expensive rack, and it's interesting because it's the only one out there with a quick 12:1 ratio.

This dilemma is ultimately what led me to go with an electric power steering system.

That is the advantage to getting your stocker rebuilt, they use the same valving so you get what you had.

    Who's doing the rebuilds?
