    Shifter bushing

My shifter is acting up. Doesn't want to go into 1st or 2nd when at a stop. I am going to replace the shifter bushing (cup) at the bottom of the shift arm. I see there is a bronze replacement available and wondered if anyone had tried it. Am concerned about vibrations through the handle. Any thoughts?

Just to follow up on this. I bought a plastic cup and a bronze cup. They both are too big in diameter to fit in the trans. If that's not bad enough the bronze one is to big on the inside too. Took it all apart and put it back together with the original bushing. The original is tighter than the replacements were. It is getting worse to shift and I will be buying a new shifter soon who likes what?
