    Parking Brake Cable Question

    Hi all,

The picture attached is driver side parking brake cable. As you can see, the cable is secured to the suspension spring with a smaller spring. Is this how the cars rolled out of the Ford assembly line? The passenger side parking brake cable is missing small spring and I've temporarily secured it to the suspension spring with a zip tie.

    Thanks

Yes, that's how they were delivered (speaking about my early 1984 for example). Not the best idea , not the worst.

The path the cable takes is slightly different form the path the lower suspension arm takes when moving up/down/left/right so the spring is a good fit. Just ugly.

Zipties with sufficient slack will also work.
