    FORD & SHELBY NATIONALS · JUNE 15 -19, 2022, Tulsa, OK

Any interest in doing this again for 2022?

I thought 2020 was a hoot, really fun event.
    Pros:
    • Full course high speed driving at Hallett Speedway - super fun chasing down Shelby's in the corners with an SVO
    • Evening Mustang Cruise through Tulsa - with a police escort and streets blocked off
    • Drag racing - tried it for the 1st time - now I'm hooked
    • Cars & Coffee Show on Sunday - so many folks commented that they enjoyed seeing a group of SVO's (and we got prime parking in the the shade)
    • SVOCOP team driveway repairs (as usual - LOL!)

    Cons:
    • Tulsa in June - it was HOT!
    • Did I mention that it was hot...?

Many thanks again to Tony and Cindy for their gracious hospitality in 2020!
    Bad choices make great stories....!

I too had a good time at this event, Tony and Cindy made the whole thing come together. I never knew this was happening and wondered about traveling this far. However driving through Tulsa with Police escort was great fun. I enjoyed the open track event at Hallett Speedway even though my car overheated when my fan burned out limiting my sessions. Riding with Doug after my car was disabled was an eye opener, I make more power but his brakes were unreal. Thanks to the SVOCOP for rallying together as usual to help get my car fixed for the drag racing Saturday. ( 14.35 at 101 mph) Then the car show was great with many different cars from Shelby's to an Original Ford GT40 race car driving around the show grounds. The SVO showing was well received making this all come full circle!

After the brake over-heating debacle (and near death experience) at a previous high-speed event, I concluded the need for an upgrade.
Hawk pads and new slotted rotors, vented wheels, high temp Motorcraft brake fluid, and splash guard removal.
Braking performance is so much better! I can push fast, smooth, (and predictable) into the turns.
