Old cats are bad. You want your turbo exhaust to be as free as possible.
Enough of that, it was giving me a headache.

I run a Hooker Aerochamber on my SVO and would not run anything else...on anything. 4 cyl, V6, V8...these are the best mufflers. I have run Magnaflows too and like them but Aerochambers just plain sound better.

I got nuthin....literally. Straight 2.5 turbo to tail pipe. Sounds like a very angry lawnmower in a pissing match with a peterbilt.

Aerochambers very soon. I'm sure anyone thinking of buying this car would cringe at the sound.

I am running the 11236 which is 2.5" offset inlet and outlet. The mufflers attach directly to Y and the tails.

Look at Stingers site here: http://www.stinger-performance.com/stockparts.html Scroll down and you can see how it all goes together.

No. Magnaflows are a straight through design.

Good thread! My new 86 has flowmasters on it, boo. A muffler I used on my 90 GT Cobra clone back in NY was the Dr. Gas race quiet muffler,OMG these are awesome! Under normal cruise just a mild sound, but when you got into it they were awesome sounding! These will go on my 86 in near future!

A little off topic but can I put my new 6" flex pipe in the down pipe? Also what is your favored clamping system? V band, flat band clamps or traditional.

I have never seen this done but I suppose it could be, I cut my downpipe off short (polished SS downpipe from Merkur depot) and welded it to the end before the aftermarket Cat. I have to do my other car this summer let me know how it goes, the flex pipe came with traditional clamps attached.IMG_0088.jpg

I have a 2 1/2 inch single exhaust with a Cherry Bomb muffler. It's not too loud and sounds good on the boost. I have it posted on YouTube. www.YouTube.com/watch?V=q118su2v6cl
