Just a friendly heads up, we are remaking the tubo oil feed lines for the SVO & other 2.3T variations. We are working on details to sell through vendors. Keep shecking back as we will post the details once everything is worked out.

Happy 2016, is this the year we see new water lines?

Is there a reason these couldn't be made in aluminum?

Could be. Would need to be a 5000 series (bendability / weldability) and should be anodized to help reduce corrosion. It's been a while since i priced the different materials (mild steel, 304SS and Al) but I seem to recall that Al cost more than 304SS, while there would be some weight savings.

But I've slept since then and times have changed. YMMV.

As Mike pointed out, the cost of using the correct AL & finishing the product is greater than the SS option.

No, but my coolant lines are. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the update on the update. wink.gif

No SVO activity at the moment, just thinking ahead to the list of many things I will need.

Is there a reason why silicon hose couldn't be used instead of the stainless steel lines? The radiator hoses aren't stainless steel

I think it has to do with the lines being so close to the turbo....heat.

There is no reason you can't use hoses as long as you make provisions to keep them away from the turbine and exhaust manifold heat. Over time, the hose will cook, harden and crack if not shielded.

I was having 10 sets made from a Place in Michigan. I sent him pics and a nos set of lines. He said he could make them. Nine months later I told him to send me what he had. I got back 10 sets of stainless tubes not bent correctly and unfinished. I paid up front so I have some scrap metal unless you want to try and finish what I have.

I used http://scrprecision.com. I sent them my coolant tubes and they made me a set in stainless steel. It took them about two weeks and they did a great job.

Nice Chad. How much did they charge if you don't mind me asking?

Did they fit OK and did you find the correct rubber hoses to go with them?

I wonder if they used CNC and kept the template so that they could make more lines?

They fit great. I already had the hoses so I didn't need them. I am not sure if they kept the templates or not. They were real easy to work with and kept me informed.

There is one missing tube - the turbo outlet that has the captive nut and the SAE flare. The one that goes over the exhaust manifold.

    I have pics somewhere.
