where does the egr vac go?

This is open but it seems weird that Ford would run the line for the vacuum al the way over here.

On the rear side of the right front shock tower are two thingies: the EGR solenoid (two vac line nipples) and the overboost switch (one vac hose port). The Lower thingie is the Over Boost switch (lights up the dash light and buzzer) and the other one is hte 2-port EGR solenoid.

The O'Boost switch sees full manifold pressure / vacuum while the EGR solenoid only sees vacuum - via a one-way check valve. The other port on the EGR solenoid connects via a few short pieces of small vac line and a long piece of 1/8" green nylon tubing to the nipple on the EGR valve.

Some pics of the switch and solenoid and associated bracketry and rubber fittings / nylon tube / check valves stuff.

Note the O'Boost switch has one wire going to it (the other is grounded to the case so the bracket must make a good ground connection to the chassis) while the EGR Sol has a 2-wire connector in the EEC harness.

What it looks like after it's all plated, painted and mounted in the stock location. My apologies for the red.

The outer-most one - the one in the pic you show with the short black nylon tube on it - goes to the vacuum pod that mounts inside the RF fender area to the inner fender. This is the vacuum storage thingie for the vac motors that work the heater box air direction valves. That tube is 2.5 - 3 feet long, iirc. Without the vac pod the heater box vacuum valves will go to the default off position as soon as engine vacuum goes away.

The larger black nylon tube coiled up above goes from the fuel tank overflow vent valve to the charcoal canister. That is the bulb harness end for the RF outer turn signal in the pic on the top right to give some relative positioning.

The other port goes to the hose/tube that comes from the heater vacuum pod area, connects to the heater lever thingie on the back of dash through a collection of vacuum tubes. It goes through the foam insulation pieces through the firewall opening that the AC evaporator core tubes come through. Look carefully at these pics. heater core tubes in copper color; AC tubes covered with blue tape; black vac tube to heater box being held straight up in pic.
